Longer days, plentiful rains, and summer-like heat of May in DC always means the life and energy of the plants in my yard are just busting out of any sense of containment. School kids are wrapping up their year, showing off their accomplishments, and ready to move on to new things. Growth and excitement surrounds us and so does a yearning for the freedom and expansion of summer.
With the end of the school year, the Breathing Space class schedule always shifts and our energies move toward summer camps. This year the shifts will be big because a long time fixture of the Capitol Hill yoga community and my personal practice home is closing at the end of the month. However, this sad development appears to be making space for an exciting new endeavor and an opportunity for Breathing Space to expand our offerings for Capitol Hill expecting and new moms.
We are thrilled to welcome Kahlil to our teaching staff and provide prenatal yogis with multiple opportunities to practice every week starting in June.
We are also pleased to be working a long-time colleague and neighborhood dance instructor Shannon Dunne of Camp Shenanigans in a brand new venue starting next month, meaning we can offer a variety of classes in both SE and NE Capitol Hill.
