Itsy Bitsy Yoga for Tots with Jen Mueller
Jen and the original Breathing Space baby.

Breathing Space started out back in 2009 as toddler family yoga classes offered by a single instructor. Over the years we’ve added camps and classes and expanded to a team of teachers. We are about to shift again and dramatically expand our birth and baby support services.

The mission of Breathing Space has always been about much more than physical postures we do in classes. We use the tools of yoga and mindfulness in children’s and family yoga to enhance social-emotional and character development, self-awareness, and self-regulation. The mindfulness and yoga techniques we practice in class are also enormously helpful for managing the challenges of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood – from the newborn period right on through . . .

Many of our yoga instructors do more than yoga as well. They are movement teachers, doulas, massage therapists, lactation consultants, and more. Breathing Space is excited to offer more of those skills and expertise to you. The philosophy that ties all of our programming together will continue to be the focus on mindfulness, self-awareness, self-acceptance, and commitment to engaging in our families and the world with authenticity and compassion.

The first new program we are launching is our Beyond the Bump workshop series. These classes, either for expecting or new parents, bring together local experts on breastfeeding, baby care, postpartum recovery, infant development, and maternal mental health. If you are expecting or caring for a new family member, please join us. If not, please spread the word!

Over the next few months, look for the following program expansions:

If you have specific thoughts and requests, please let us know. If you love our programming, the best way to show your support is to spread the word.
