Massage can help relive many pregnancy-related aches and pains as well as support circulation and offer stress relief. Couples massage during pregnancy has the added benefit of supporting connection and communication with your partner during a potentially tumultuous period in your lives that you are not experiencing in identical ways.
Prenatal Massage Techniques
The Breathing Space Prenatal Massage Techniques workshop is a hands-on class covering the basics of massage applied to the pregnant body.
We’ll explore comfortable positions (for both the giver and receiver), how to apply appropriate pressure, and basic massage technique. Areas of focus will vary based on students’ needs, but will generally include shoulders, low back, and feet.
You need not attend class as a “couple,” but you will need to bring a partner with you. Friends, family members and significant others are all equally welcome!
Class is appropriate for all body types and abilities, but please contact us for approval prior to registering if your pregnancy is considered high risk.
