We’re bringing back Summer Yoga Camp!  During the last week of June and all of August, Christ Church will once again be our home for yoga & mindfulness, games, crafts, and free play.  We can’t wait to be back together with our campers!
Please read this post to the end to fully understand our COVID protocols before registering your campers.

Our camp day will run from 9am-3pm.  We can not commit to offering extended day programming at this time.
We will run as many camp classes as public health guidance, venue availability, and staffing allows on the following weeks: June 28, August 2, August 9, August 16, and August 23. If there is sufficient demand, we may expand camp to a second location (likely St. Marks at 3rd & A SE) some weeks.  If you know you want to send your camper to a week that is full, please join the waitlist! We will follow all DC public health guidance and protocols as well as any rules set by the venues.

We expect DC to revisit daycare and camp rules in April, but at this time, group size is limited 10 campers and two adult staffers. DC guidance allows for only one group per room with solid walls and does not allow groups to mingle out of doors. We are looking into the possibility of offering multiple sites or sites that can accommodate multiple groups with separate rooms that would alternate outdoor time. It is highly likely that parents will not be allowed to enter the buildings and that late arrivals or early pickup will not be allowed.

Enrollment will be limited to rising K-4th graders. A VERY limited number of PK4 younger siblings may be given special permission to attend if they have previously participated in Breathing Space classes.  (If this is you, please send an email.) Siblings will be required to be in the same cohort.

Regardless of location, camp will be held outdoors whenever possible.  We have large tents available for shade and will make plenty on on-site water play available for hot days.  Depending on our venue, we may have indoor space available for especially inclement weather or specific activities, but expect your camper to be outside a lot.

Unless public health guidance changes, there will be no field trips other than walking visits to neighborhood parks and playgrounds.

Campers will be required to wear a well fitted face covering that seals securely above the nose and below the chin at all times except when they are sitting and eating. No gaters, bandanas, or mesh.

Tuition remains $400 per weekplus a $20 per student registration fee to cover camp t-shirts and other supplies. The first $100 of camp tuition is a non-refundable deposit (unless WE cancel camp before it begins)You may choose to pay only the $100 deposit upon enrollment.  If you do so, you must save your payment card to your profile, and the balance of tuition will be automatically charged on June 1.

Because of the small group sizes, Breathing Space is very limited in ability to offer refunds. If Breathing Space cancels camp because of changing public health guidance or COVID exposures causing under enrollment before the camp week begins, we will offer refunds, including deposits.

We generally do not allow refunds after about Memorial Day at all unless a waitlisted camper takes the withdrawing student’s spot. By that point, most families have made plans even, if they are on our waitlist, and filling camp spots is not guaranteed.

If these refund policies don’t work for your family, then we recommend finding a larger camp that can absorb losses from last minute cancellations.

For 2021, the only exception we can make is for campers who are exposed to or diagnosed with COVID-19 the week before the camp week begins and notifies us by the Friday before. For those cases, we can offer a partial refund, but if we lose more than one student the week before and do not fill the spot, that camp week may be cancelled. There will be no refunds mid-week, even if a camper must pull out of camp due to Coronavirus/COVID-19 and even if camp must be cancelled.

Full COVID safety protocols will be sent out ahead of camp based on the latest public health guidance.
