Breathing Space is a mobile program that offers classes a residential neighborhood of Washington DC. Our trainings are offered in those same venues.

Where to Stay

Your choice of housing will be influenced by how you are getting to DC and from which direction.

There are 3 airports that serve Washington DC: Washington Regan International (DCA) and Dulles International (IAD) in Virginia and Baltimore Washington International (BWI) in Maryland. Of the 3, DCA is the closest, easiest, and definitely recommended if you can get a good airfare through there.

Staying in DC

There are very few hotels within walking distance of our Eastern Market locations, but a more options near Union Station and NOMA venues. Hotels inside the District of Columbia, which cater to business travelers, are generally pricer than those in the suburbs.

There are only a few hotels in the neighborhood The ones below are convenient to the studio but rates tend to be expensive, though occasionally visitors get lucky.

Closest to Hyatt Place and Shenanigan’s Art Space:

Closest to Realignment Studio:

Hotels further from the training sites can be a good deal. Anywhere near a metro stop will be fairly convenient for getting around day to day. Since rates are extremely variable, a travel website search will probably yield the best results.

AirBNB (home sharing) is another popular option that can be economical. Use Eastern Market or Union Station as your locations for homes within walking distance of our trainings. Since AirBnB stock changes often, we’ve also drawn a recommended geographic range from the studio on the Google map below (zoom in). Check the individual listings for reviews, availability and pricing.

For budget accommodations, there are several hostels in the city and camp grounds too far away. See the map below for suggestions.

Staying in the Suburbs

A budget hotel near the New Carrollton/Landover or Largo Town Center metro stations in Maryland or in Crystal City (Arlington) Virginia may be worth the metro ride in (and avoiding parking on Capitol Hill). Check with hotels about metro shuttles, since many will provide that service.

Breathing Space recommends a few hotels with good reviews in safe, convenient neighborhoods. Nightly rates should be less than $150.
